Learn How to wash DTG Printed T-shirts

Washing DTG printed shirts are different from washing other methods because of the material used is different. With Dtg printed shirts, the ink is laid into the fabric which would be different from vinyl-printed shirts.

Do DTG Printed shirts peel or fade?

Dtg printed T-shirts will not peel because the ink is printed directly into the T-shirt. This is different then vinyl where the material is placed on top of the shirt. On the other hand, since you are using water-based inks eventually the shirt may start to fade. That is why it's important to wash and dry your t-shirts using our method. How to wash a DTG Printed shirt?

Step 1. Turn your T-shirt inside out.

Step 2. Fill your washing machine with cold water.

Step 3. Use the correct amount of soap and DO NOT use Bleach.

Step 4. Use the gentle cycle on your washing machine.

Step 5. Air Dry your t-shirt or use the LOW heat setting on your dryer.

As you can see it is not hard to wash Dtg printed shirts or regular printed shirts for that matter. The important part is to Not Dry the shirts on high heat or you risk your shirts shrinking. You also want to stay away from using hot water if you do not need to.

Your last step says low heat for the washer, you probally meant low heat setting on the dryer. Thanks.

Do dtg prints peel?

Hello, No dtg prints do not peel. Dtg Printing uses water-based inks. The ink is actually absorbed into the t-shirt. Dtg printing is great for 100% cotton and cotton and Polyester blends. I think that you may be thinking about vinyl. Vinyl has a tendency to peel but not Dtg Printing. Let us know if you have any other questions that we can assist you with.
